First session at Pozo Izquierdo

I think Raquel started to take lessons with Javi Espin a little bit more than a year ago, since then she’s been windsurfing at Las Salinas, but last Sunday she had her first session at Pozo Izquierdo, I think she hasn’t stop smiling since then. Most people sailing at Las Salinas have the level to windsurf in Pozo Izquierdo, it’s just a question of choosing the right day to start, if you can

Yesterday afternoon, windsurfing conditions at Pozo Izquierdo, were far from amazing, 5,3 (gusty) and very small waves, but everyone going out of the water, was saying it was amazing to be windsurfing under that sunset.

Onshore Retro

Yesterday afternoon at a clouded Pozo Izquierdo this sail with orange fluo colors kept my attention, was old but in perfect shape and I had never seen that model from Simmer before, the Onshore Retro. I could not even find out what year was this sail made.

A lot of people think windsurfing in Gran Canaria is all about Pozo Izquierdo, but it's plenty of other spots just driving a few minutes and for a couple of them you don't even have to drive, you can go sailing from Pozo. When Pozo Izquierdo is flat, there's a lot of chances you can find wind and waves in less than a 20 minute drive.
