The Delta Lloyd Regatta, the fifth event in the 2009-2010 ISAF Sailing World Cup series, started today in Medemblik, The Netherlands, in a shifty breeze in the teens and chilly conditions with the RS:X Women and RS:X Men completing 3 races each.

Argentina and Italy are on equal points in the lead at the RS:X European Windsurfing Team Racing Championships at the end of the second day in Mondello, Sicily. Over in the Techno 293 championships it is the unbeaten French Team who are dominating the competition.
Not since 1992 has a windsurfer representing the United States won an Olympic medal, when Mike Gebhardt won the silver medal in Barcelona, Spain. In 1984, the inaugural year for Men's Olympic Windsurfing, Scott Steele won a silver medal in Los Angeles, and Gebhardt won the bronze medal in Seoul, South Korea in 1988. Women's Windsurfing became an Olympic sport in 1992, and to date no American woman has won an Olympic Windsurfing medal.
A regatta in Puerto Vallarta, MX is being held Oct. 19-24, 2010. It is for Pan AM classes. This regatta cannot be called the Pan AM Pre-Regatta as is not being run by the official Pan Am organization. 
The Late entry fee for the RS:X European Windsurfing Championships and the RS:X Youth European Windsurfing Championships will come into effect on June 1st.
